Philip Tefe, the man linked to the death of popular Circle phone dealer Terry Yaw Kyere, widely known as Dinero, has broken his silence following the incident that shocked many Ghanaians.
Tefe addressed the matter in a short video that circulated on X and was sighted by GhanaWeb on September 26, 2026, giving his first known public account of his encounter with the deceased.
In the video, Tefe acknowledged that there had been a confrontation between him and Terry but maintained that he left the room after the disagreement.
“There was a fight between us, and I left the room to take a walk,” he said.
His brief account, however, leaves several questions unanswered about what happened after he allegedly left the room and the events that eventually led to Terry’s death.
Reports surrounding the case indicate that Terry was allegedly lured to Teshie through a catfishing scheme.
Catfishing involves the use of a false identity or deceptive online persona to establish contact with another person and, in some cases, convince them to meet in person.
According to accounts that have emerged, Terry travelled to Teshie after being deceived through such a scheme, where he subsequently met his death.
The exact circumstances of the encounter, including what transpired between Terry and the people he met at the location, remain under investigation.
Following Terry’s death, the Ghana Police Service in Teshie reportedly moved to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
A woman and another individual were taken into custody in connection with the case, although authorities had not publicly disclosed their identities at the time of the reports.
It remains unclear what specific roles, if any, the arrested individuals may have played in the circumstances leading to Terry’s death.
Tefe’s latest comments have added another dimension to a case that has attracted significant attention, particularly because of the reported use of catfishing to lure the phone dealer to the location.
