Ghanaian forward Prince Owusu struck twice as CF Montreal beat Vancouver Whitecaps 2-1 to reach the Canadian Championship final with a 3-2 aggregate victory.Owusu converted a penalty in the 30th minute before adding a second goal in first-half stoppage time, giving Montral a commanding interval lead.The hosts earned their penalty after a VAR review confirmed a foul on Daniel Rios. Owusu made no mistake from the spot, calmly putting Montral ahead. He then extended the advantage in the 45th minute, finishing an opportunity created by Matt Longstaff.American-Ghanaian midfielder Emmanuel Sabbi gave Vancouver hope after coming on at halftime. Sabbi scored in the 58th minute, reducing the deficit and setting up a tense closing period. Montreal, however, defended their lead successfully to secure progression.Owusu was booked in the 41st minute and replaced by Dawid Bugaj in added time. He was named Player of the Match after earning an 8.1 rating and 63 percent of the fan vote.The brace also maintained Owusus fine Canadian Championship record. He has played five games and scored three goals in the competition this season.Montreal will now switch attention to MLS, where Columbus await on September 19.
