Somanya-based side Rootz Sistaz have been crowned champions of the 2023–24 Eastern Regional Women’s Division One League after ending the season unbeaten.

Rootz Sistaz wrapped up the season in a fascinating fashion, winning nine matches, recording a draw, and amassing 28 points to top the league log. They also managed to score 64 goals and conceded 4 goals in 10 matches played, setting an enviable record in the region.

They defeated Kotoku Rush Ladies, Play Maidens FC, Guthrie Ladies FC, and other teams before trashing Iron Ladies 14-0 last Sunday at Suhum Roman Park to lift the trophy.

Regional FA Chairman Linford Asamoah and Ghana Football Association RFA Coordinator, Mr. Dasebre Adu-Asare, were among a host of dignitaries present during the coronation last Sunday at Suhum Roman Park.

Rootz Sistaz will represent the Eastern Region at the Southern Zonal Championship to be held in Sogakope in June.
