Real Tamale United players are demonstrating over unpaid salaries by refusing to honour their training sessions ahead of their final Ghana Premier League against King Faisal at the Aliu Mahama Stadium on Sunday.

The salary arrears which are said to be owed from last season has triggered the players to boycott their training sessions for the past three days with the aim of compelling management of the club to settle the payment.

The players have furthered threatened to not show up for their final Ghana Premier League match on Sunday, which has left the authorities worried.

According to Sey Mubarak, spokesperson of the club, the demonstration has been intensified by the players despite meeting the CEO of the club and other notable individuals.

“I think our preparations have been a bit interrupted because of the player’s decision to boycott training but there is a little bit of energy,” he told Peace FM.

“As it stands we are not even certain if the players will report to the venue to play on Sunday.

“We were expecting them to show up in training today after meeting the CEO and the supporters executives but there still didn’t show up this morning.

“This has made us a bit worried with regard to the match against King Faisal. So it will be difficult for me to tell you whether we will beat them or not.

The Tamale-based are currently comfortable in the 9th position on the Ghana Premier League log with one more round to end the season
