Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder has praised Jordan Ayews performance following his sides victory over Bristol City in the English Championship. The former Leicester City forward started and played 69 minutes as Sheffield United secured a narrow win over their opponents to climb up the league standings.Ayew completed 13 accurate passes, made five defensive contributions and won three of his eight ground duels during an encouraging display in his first start since joining Sheffield United as a free agent in the summer following his departure from Leicester City. After the match, Wilder expressed his satisfaction with the veteran Ghanaian forwards contribution as Sheffield United bounced back from their midweek defeat. We made some changes [to the starting unit]; delighted for Jordan, Wilder said. His performance was really good, allowed us to go and press and get after them and allow us for them to go wrong for us to break up and control the game.Hopefully its a great boost for his confidence, but him and Kalvin [Phillips] were exceptional and outstanding. The 35-year-old has made four appearances across competitions for Sheffield United since arriving at the club, although he is yet to register a goal or an assist.
