Ghanaians have reacted to the decision by Maame Akua Donkor to file another nomination this year again despite losing every single time.
The leader of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), Madam Akua Donkor, successfully submitted her presidential nomination forms for the December 7 elections.
Earlier this year, the Electoral Commission (EC) declared that the filing fees for the 2024 Presidential and Parliamentary Elections will not be different from those charged during the 2020 polls.
The EC set the filing fee for presidential candidates at GH¢100,000 while maintaining the filing fee for parliamentary candidates at GH¢10,000.
With these huge amounts being charged for filing fees, some Ghanaians feel Akua Donkor could use that money to develop projects in her hometown and also help transform the lives of the youth.
They urged the 76-year-old to stop wasting her money every four years by filing for a nomination she knows she’ll never win.
