Stellantis, a multinational automotive company, has officially inaugurated a state-of-the-art vehicle dismantling facility in Casablanca, Morocco, marking the automotive giant’s first industrial circular economy hub in the Middle East and Africa (MEA).
This strategic expansion establishes a critical anchor for the region’s end-of-life vehicle ecosystem, transforming how automotive waste is managed while providing a sustainable pipeline of affordable, original parts for the local market.
The Casablanca site represents the third global facility of its kind for Stellantis, joining existing centers in Turin, Italy and São Paulo, Brazil.
Operated under the SUSTAINera business unit, the center focuses on the “4Rs” strategy, which is to remanufacture, repair, reuse and recycle.
By industrialising these processes, Stellantis aims to extend the lifespan of vehicles and components, ensuring that high-quality parts, including critical traction batteries, remain in the value chain rather than ending up in landfills.
Spanning 6,000 square meters, the facility represents a €1.6 million investment designed to handle up to 10,000 vehicles annually.
Beyond its environmental impact, the project is a significant economic driver for the region, expected to create approximately 150 direct and indirect jobs at full capacity.
Vehicles will be sourced through various channels, including insurance companies and auctions, to ensure a steady flow of materials for the Moroccan and regional aftersales networks.
Chief Operating Officer for Stellantis Middle East and Africa, Samir Cherfan, emphasised that the circular economy is a strategic priority that merges industrial performance with resource responsibility.
“Circular Economy is a strategic priority for Stellantis in the Middle East and Africa. It enables us to combine industrial performance, affordability for customers and the responsible use of resources, while securing our long‑term industrial footprint across the region,” he said.
By scaling these activities, the company provides customers and repair professionals with more affordable service options through the B-Parts platform and Distrigo hubs without compromising on the quality or traceability of the components.
The launch of the Casablanca center sets a new benchmark for the Moroccan automotive industry, as it is the first facility of its kind established by a major automaker in the country.
This 360-degree approach to the vehicle lifecycle ensures that Stellantis remains at the forefront of the regional aftermarket, creating a traceable, compliant, and economically sustainable model that balances business growth with environmental stewardship
