As part of its efforts to create jobs for the Ghanaian youth and contribute meaningfully to Ghana’s economic turnaround, Taptap Send, an international remittance firm, has set up a call centre in Accra to coordinate part of its global business from Ghana.

As a result, a number of Ghanaian graduates have been employed to man the call centre.

The Director of Growth for Africa for Taptap Send, Darryl Abraham, said the state of youth unemployment in Ghana is precarious and is gradually getting to the point of being a national security threat. This, he said, must be a concern for all Ghanaians and entities doing business in the country. He said the Centre also forms part of the global collaborative and networking efforts aimed at improving the lives of citizens across the world.

“It was for the purposes of helping meet the unemployment challenge in the country that Taptap Send has set up a Call Centre in Accra, offering jobs to young Ghanaians as well as making money transfer safer and faster for its global clients and most especially Ghanaians,” he said.

The Global Director of Customer Services for Taptap Send, Marcin Kupczak, disclosed that the company understands money transfer transactions better because it was set up by more than 90 percent immigrants who come from different countries other than the metropolis, which explains why Taptap Send does not charge any fees for its services.

He said, “In addition to job creation, the Call Centre in Accra is to help improve clients and customer relations and provides the best opportunity for feedback for a better resolution of any challenges that may face clients.”

The Chief Operating Officer of E-services Africa, handlers of the Taptap Call Centre in Accra, Emmanuel Wereko Annor, said the Taptap Send app provides an easier, simpler, and safer means of money transfer which is accessible to all. He said the Centre is staffed with young men and women with varied and vast experiences in the money transfer and Fintech space.
