The route to a world cup final and champion is now complete after the final group matches.
This is where we all will be treated to tasty treats of football matches and lineups. Get your popcorn and be ready for a kaleidoscope of shifting emotions. You will be entertained, you will be bored, you will get upset and also stomp your feat. The match ups are tantalising to say the least. I am also salivating at some of the possible line up as we progress to the next season of this series!
At the business end is the results that matters! You grind the results, you progress to the next stage or your get knocked out! It is that simple. And surely not for the timorous soul. So whether you achieve that through a low block, open play, ultra-defensive, high line, counter attack or even achieve that through within the 90 minutes of football, extra time or via the lottery of penalty kicks, no one cares.
Win or bust! And that ladies and gentlemen is what the business end of FIFA World Cup tourney is about!
Here, there is no place to hide. I am sorry to leas you on. However, there is nothing like everything in between at this stage! Nothing like different shades of grey, nuanced play et. al. Green means Go and Red means Out! Simplicita. There is no room for hot or cold. Bubble or Burst!
I wish all the teams well as I grab my cup of ginger and lemon tea for the dwan matches and pop corn and Lemonade for the night matches. I wish the Ghana 🇬🇭 Black Stars well and hopefully we go for the jagular. Press when we need to, defend when it requires, use laterals when the demand is there, attack and go gaga when we have to.
Yeah I am aware of the Carlos Queiro Football show! But hey I hope he’s pragmatic and unleash our attacking dragon when he has to and our rock of Gibraltar defending when required. Best to Africa! Greater works to Ghana my Motherland.
