Les Bleus controlled the contest from start to finish, creating the better chances and keeping Sweden under pressure throughout the Round of 32 encounter.
Kylian Mbappé broke the deadlock on the stroke of halftime, giving France a deserved 1-0 lead heading into the interval after an impressive first-half display.
Bradley Barcola doubled France’s advantage eight minutes after the restart, putting Didier Deschamps’ side firmly in control of the match.
Mbappé then completed his brace in the 74th minute to seal a convincing victory and book France’s place in the next round.
The comfortable win sends Les Bleus into the Round of 16, where they will face Paraguay on July 4 for a place in the quarter-finals.
France will head into the knockout clash full of confidence after another dominant performance, while Sweden bow out of the tournament following a disappointing display against one of the favourites.
