The Madina Divisional Police Command has arrested two suspects over an alleged plot to assassinate a susu collector at the Botwe Taxi Rank.

‎The suspects are Abubakar Altine and Eric Tettey Adjetey.

‎A statement signed by Chief Superintendent of Police Juliana Obeng, Head of Public Affairs, Accra Region, said the arrests followed information received by the Police on September 4, 2026.

‎It said a team of police officers laid an ambush at Botwe Old Town and arrested the two suspects, who were allegedly in the process of carrying out the planned attack.

‎Preliminary investigations indicated that Altine allegedly owed the complainant, Esther Dankwa, money and, following her repeated demands for repayment, allegedly conspired with Adjetey to arrange for her assassination.

‎The statement said the suspects were arraigned before the Adenta Magistrate Court on September 7, 2026, but their pleas were not taken.

‎They were remanded into lawful custody and are expected to reappear before the court on September 22, 2026.

‎The police said investigations were ongoing and further developments would be communicated in due course.
