The Madina Divisional Police Command has arrested two suspects over an alleged plot to assassinate a susu collector at the Botwe Taxi Rank.
The suspects are Abubakar Altine and Eric Tettey Adjetey.
A statement signed by Chief Superintendent of Police Juliana Obeng, Head of Public Affairs, Accra Region, said the arrests followed information received by the Police on September 4, 2026.
It said a team of police officers laid an ambush at Botwe Old Town and arrested the two suspects, who were allegedly in the process of carrying out the planned attack.
Preliminary investigations indicated that Altine allegedly owed the complainant, Esther Dankwa, money and, following her repeated demands for repayment, allegedly conspired with Adjetey to arrange for her assassination.
The statement said the suspects were arraigned before the Adenta Magistrate Court on September 7, 2026, but their pleas were not taken.
They were remanded into lawful custody and are expected to reappear before the court on September 22, 2026.
The police said investigations were ongoing and further developments would be communicated in due course.
