Following approval of this innovative technology by the Ghana Food and Drugs Authority, the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) will start using the Nanox Arc on their patients in Sub-Saharan Africa in February.
The Nanox Arc is a cutting-edge piece of technology that represents a major breakthrough in the field of radiology. With its advanced cold cathode technology, it is capable of producing high-quality medical images with unprecedented speed and accuracy but at a cheaper cost than the traditional CT scan.
The Nanox Arc has the potential to revolutionize the way medical imaging is performed, leading to improved diagnosis and treatment for patients with the believe that the deployment of this technology will play a role in making Ghana a hub for medical tourism in the sub-Saharan Africa.
The UGMC Radiology Learning Centre was launched at UGMC early last year in collaboration with Forte Medical Ltd-a company that specializes in the distribution of cutting-edge imaging technology in Africa.
*A* Radiologist Specialist, at University of Ghana Medical Centre Ltd (UGMC) , *Daniel Amankrah* in an interview with the media after a brief ceremony stressed that, the Nanox Arc which is the first in the Sub-Saharan Africa can be used to scan all parts of the human body including the bones.
He said the Nanox Arc provides more images to help radiologists to see more details of what what happening in the human body at a relatively low cost and less radiation compared with the CT scan machine .
Chief Executive Officer of Forte Medical Nana Bebaako Addo said Nanax .Arc allowed radiographers to see from the front and back side of the human body during the scan through the manipulation of the Arc.
Nana Addo encouraged the public to use the technology because it was easy and affordable to use.
