Asante Kotoko coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has called on stakeholders of the club to help restore unity in a bid to revive the club’s fortunes.
After departing the club at the end of the 2021/22 season, Kotoko struggled in the following season while settling for fourth place as well as bowing out of other competitions.
After the season the management of the club alongside the board was dissolved after completing their three-year mandate. However, before the dissolution, there was a rift between the then-CEO of the club Nana Yaw Amponsah and the immediate past board chairman Dr Kwame Kyei which was believed to have taken a toll on the overall output of the club.
Ogum who has now returned to the club as the new coach was unveiled in the conference room of the Baba Yara Stadium on Monday and stated his zeal to rebuild a team that will be competitive at all levels.
He stated that living harmoniously would be key to getting the club back on its toes and rubbing shoulders with African heavyweights like Egypt’s Al Ahly.
“Every organization that wants to succeed does so in j one condition and that’s unity. I want everybody to come on board and let’s pick the lessons and screen which one to repeat and which one to let go and I’m convinced that we can catch up with the Ahlys. Let’s forgive and forget,” Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum said.
The former West Africa Football Academy boss will be working with David Ocloo as his deputy to try and repeat the remarkable feat of winning the Ghana Premier League next season as it was achieved during their stint two seasons ago.
