The organisers of the One Humanity International Beach Soccer Cup Ghana 2026 wish to formally inform the public, partners, and media that the tournament will not take place on its originally scheduled dates of 8th to 10th May 2026.

This decision follows technical assessments conducted after recent tidal activity and coastal erosion affected the specific section of Laboma Beach designated for the tournament venue. The impacted area is the precise zone required for the construction of a beach soccer tournament arena and associated event infrastructure, and no longer meets the technical and safety standards required for an international competition.

Despite extensive consultations and the exploration of alternative options, it has not been possible within the available timeframe to secure a suitable venue that meets the operational, technical, logistical, and compliance requirements for the tournament.

The One Humanity International Beach Soccer Cup Ghana 2026 is aligned with the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations’ One Humanity Campaign and supported by Beach Soccer Worldwide and the National Sports Authority. In keeping with the values and standards of these partnerships, the organisers believe this decision is in the best interest of all stakeholders.

While this development is regrettable, the organisers remain committed to the One Humanity beach soccer initiative and to the long-term growth of beach soccer and international sporting events in Ghana.

Efforts are currently underway to reschedule the tournament to October 2026. Further communication will be made in due course, once conditions allow and plans have been firmly finalised.

We thank all partners, media organisations, and supporters for their understanding.
