Artiste manager Bullgod has stated that no gospel musician will win Artiste of the Year at this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).
This comes after Ghanaian female inspirational gospel musician Piesie Esther made a statement on UTV’s Showbiz that she would definitely win artist of the year. The gospel musician was nominated in seven categories in the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, including Artiste of the Year.
Speaking on the TV3 NewDay entertainment news show with Berla Mundi, Bullgod stated that Piesie Esther won’t win this year’s artist of the year until perhaps the 34th Vodafone Ghana Music Awards. “I wish she would come up, but not this year. Maybe she should wait until the 34th VGMA Awards.”
According to Bullgod, Stonebwoy and Black Sherif are both deserving of the Artiste of the Year award because of how hard they’ve worked.
“So I’m saying that this year, if you look at what our people in the world have done, as in the Stonebwoys and Black Sherifs, no, we will not allow any gospel people to win; even if the Church of Pentecost, Church of Presby, and Church of Anglican join, they will not win; they won’t win against Lucifer. Everybody else in the world is with Lucifer, so this is Lucifer against God, and God understands that we will win this time. You get my point. he said.
