VocalEssence Chorale, an interdenominational choir with a passion to witness the gospel of Jesus through choral songs, have raised a sum of GHS 50,000 for Nii Okai’s Saving Hearts Foundation (NOSHF).

This was inspired by their strong urge to give back, in a grand way, on the occasion of their 10th anniversary, to celebrate God for great impact in the Kingdom and Ghanaian music industry.

According to Reverend Ernest Nii-Okai Okai, founder of NOSHF, the Saving Hearts Project, now a Foundation, was birthed in year 2013 to say thank you to God for 10 years of ‘Moko Be’, his debut album. It has since with support from various partners, raised funds and funded twenty-five (25) heart surgeries for needy Ghanaian children. The current target was to raise funds for twenty-five more surgeries. He added that this kind gift from VocalEssence would go a long way to support the fundraising efforts of NOSHF.

Group Captain Rosalind Asiedu, Patron and Sponsorship Coordinator of VocalEssence Chorale shared with the NOSHF team that over the years, they had donated to several organizations using the proceeds from their yearly concert dubbed ‘Ayeyi Ndwom’. This was however their biggest donation yet, in recognition of 10 years of God’s faithfulness.

“VocalEssence Chorale aims at touching lives through the message in our beautiful songs and through our campaign to support many worthy social causes. We are grateful to partner Nii Okai’s Saving Hearts during our 10th anniversary to raise funds to support his Foundation. We believe our sermons become alive through these social causes we embark on.” added Mr. Andrew Addy, Executive Director of Vocal Essence Chorale.

Their kind donation was received by the First Lady of Nii Okai Ministries (NOM), Lady Yaa Okai during an NOM Town Hall Meeting on Wednesday 31st July, 2024, held at Chase lounge in Tema. Present at the meeting was Mrs. Abla Masoperh, NOM Board, Pastor Kwame Amihere, NOSHF Council, the NOM Mission Team, and an eight-member team from VocalEssence Chorale including their Anniversary Committee Chairperson, Rebecca Mannoh and Administrator, Ernest Omari.

NOM’s Head of Finance and Development, Mr. Richard Nii Addo informed the gathering that “NOSHF will continue to partner with the Child Health Department of Korle-bu Teaching Hospital to screen for heart-related diseases amongst children within schools in the Korle-bu vicinity to commemorate World Hearts Day on 29th September. We shall also partner with the UGMC and their partners from Kinderherzen-Germany and Boston Team-USA to sponsor some open-heart surgeries for selected beneficiaries.”

“Above all we call on all with a heart of gold to join us in saving hearts’”, he concluded.
