Ghana Women’s Premier League champions, Ampem Darkoa Ladies, enjoyed a winning start to the 2026 WAFU B Women’s Champions League Qualifiers. 

Ampem Darkoa Ladies recorded a 1-0 win over defending champions ASEC Mimosas in their opening game of the competition. 

Gloria Adomako scored the only goal of the game in the first half to ensure all three points for the Nana Mma. 

The Ivorian side came close to scoring g the opening goal in the sixth minute but failed to get their effort on target from the penalty spot. 

Goalkeeper Rose Baah made a brilliant save to deny the Ivorians to keep the score at 0-0.

Zakaria Ajegipina and Nancy Amoh also came close to breaking the deadlock but their attempts to catch the goalkeeper other lines both failed to find the back of the net. 

However, there was no denying Adomako in the 29th minute as she headed home the first goal for Ampem Darkoa. 

Loanee Milot Pokuaa also came close to doubling the lead for the Techiman-based team after the recess but her shot from close range came off the upright. 

In between the Milot chance and the closing stages of the game, Baah made some good saves to deny ASEC an equaliser in the game as Ampem Darkoa Ladies went on to secure all three points. 

Ampem Darkoa Ladies will come up against AS Garde Nationale of Niger in their next game on Thursday, August 27.
