New Black Stars goalkeeping coach Daniel Gasper has expressed admiration for the quality of goalkeepers in the Ghana Premier League after watching the goalless draw between Hearts of Oak and Karela United at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The experienced coach was in attendance during the Match-day 30 fixture, using the opportunity to assess local talents as part of his ongoing scouting mission since taking up his new role with the national team.
Despite the match ending 0-0, Gasper was pleased with the level of competition and individual performances on display, particularly praising the goalkeeping department.
“I enjoyed Hearts of Oak v Karela. A lot of talents on the field. Absolutely Benjamin Asare is a good goalkeeper. He is part of the national team pool. Agbasi has got quality. We have some good goalkeepers in Ghana,” he said.
His comments come as a strong endorsement for Benjamin Asare and Solomon Agbasi, both of whom are part of the growing pool of goalkeepers being monitored for national team duties.
Gasper’s presence at the game highlights the renewed attention being given to the domestic league by the Black Stars technical team, as they continue to identify and integrate top-performing local talents into the national setup ahead of upcoming international assignments.
