Attacker of FC Samartex, Baba Hamadu Musah has emphasised that the club cannot be too happy with the 1-0 victory over Cameroon’s Victoria United FC over the weekend.
The Ghana Premier League champions played as a guest to the opponent on Sunday in the first leg of the tie in the first round of the CAF Champions League qualification.
At the end of 90 minutes, FC Samartex secured a 1-0 win away from home.
Speaking to the media team of his club, Baba Hamadu Musah said it is important that FC Samartex goes into the game as wounded lions.
He said the team must not leave anything to chance if it wants to qualify for the next round.
“A 1-0 victory is a tricky one, no matter how elated we are as players. Therefore, we have resolved to perceive it as a defeat, entering the second leg fixture as wounded lions at the Accra Sports Stadium. We can only celebrate after progressing to the next stage of the competition,” Baba Hamadu Musah said.
The reverse fixture of the CAF Champions League tie between FC Samartex and Victoria United will be played on Sunday.
