Ampem Darkoa Ladies have set their sights on continental glory after clinching the Women’s Premier League title with a dramatic 2-1 comeback victory over Hasaacas Ladies.Speaking after the final at the Swedru Sports Complex, midfielder Priscilla Agyemang made the team’s ambition clear.”Our expectation towards Africa. We want to be the champions over there too so that we can make Ghana proud and people may put eyes on our football and our football will also go forward,” she declared.The triumph secures Ampem Darkoa’s place in the WAFU Zone B qualifiers for the CAF Women’s Champions League. Victory there would see them advance to the main continental tournament, where they aim to become champions of Africa.Hasaacas Ladies took the lead in the final through Abiba Issah, but Ampem Darkoa responded after the break. Princilla Okyere equalised in the 58th minute before Gloria Adomako scored the 86th-minute winner to spark wild celebrations.Agyemang reflected on the hard-fought victory while keeping focus on the bigger picture.”Actually the game wasn’t on a softer side. It was very tough and hard but by God’s grace and with the help of Hasaacas Ladies, they all did well. But when God grants you the win, it is just something that you can’t take it off.”She also praised their opponents, calling them sisters and family, but made no secret of where Ampem Darkoa are headed next.”We will make sure that we will make the Women’s Premier League very good and very nice for people to enjoy, and we pray to God that whatever thing that has happened here, we will do the greater things when we move forward.”The victory marks Ampem Darkoa’s fifth league crown and a strong response after losing the title last season.
