Ghanaian musician and reigning Telecel Ghana Music Awards Artiste of the Year, Black Sherif, has expressed confidence that it is possible for him to win the topmost award for a third time, a feat that would make history in the award scheme.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Cookie Tee on TV3’s New Day, the “Sacrifice” hitmaker, who clinched the award for a second time at the just-ended 27th TGMA, said his focus remains on continuous work and improvement.

Responding to whether he sees himself winning the award again, he said:

“It’s possible, most definitely possible because I am still working, I’m back to work. We won the award on Sunday dawn, back to work on Monday, we are working. It is 100 percent possible.”

Black Sherif was one of the standout winners at the 27th TGMA, taking home five awards, including the ultimate Artiste of the Year, making him the most awarded artiste of the night.

His win adds to an elite group of artistes who have won the Artiste of the Year award more than once in the history of the TGMA. This includes Sarkodie, who won in 2010 and 2012, Stonebwoy, who won in 2015 and 2024, and VIP/VVIP, who also secured the award in 2004 and 2011.

With two Artiste of the Year titles already to his name, Black Sherif now joins the list of multiple winners as he eyes a potential third win that would set a new record in TGMA history.
