Hearts of Oak have opened negotiations with goalkeeper Solomon Agbasi over a new contract as the club moves to secure the future of one of its key performers.

The Phobians are making steady progress in discussions with the 25-year-old, who is expected to put pen to paper on a new deal if both parties reach a final agreement.

Agbasi’s current contract is nearing its end and has attracted interest from several clubs, with Ghana Premier League champions Medeama SC understood to be among those monitoring his situation.

The goalkeeper enjoyed an impressive 2025/26 campaign despite being the second choice, making 12 league appearances and keeping nine clean sheets to establish himself as one of the standout shot-stoppers in the Ghana Premier League.

His performances also earned him a place in Ghana’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he travelled with the Black Stars as the team’s standby goalkeeper.

Hearts are keen to fend off growing interest in Agbasi by tying him down to a new contract as they continue preparations for the 2026/27 season, with the club viewing him as an important part of their long-term plans.
