Africa is the continent with the most eyeballs among investors keen on exploiting its vast and rich resources. The wealth of Africa ranges from Diamonds, Gold, Bauxite, Iron, Manganese, the largest reserves of cobalt, platinum, and uranium in the world, Cocoa, Shea, rosewood, et Al. 52 countries make up the African continent, with a population of 1.4 billion people, and Lagos, Nigeria, is the largest city. It holds 65 per cent of the world’s arable land and ten per cent of the planet’s internal renewable freshwater source, and it has the youngest population in the world.
In most African countries, natural capital accounts for between 30 per cent and 50 per cent of total wealth. After the end of the slave trade decades ago, the continent has shown commitment to growth through how fast it is building bridges with partners who can invest and industrialise, thus turning around the fortunes of the people of the continent. Trade, Climate change, globalisation and development, tourism, and culture contribute to the spate of content’s advancement and expose the dichotomy between the continent with the most resources and the global West.
It is in this light that Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), Which is part of the African Union Broadcasters Association (AUB), is bringing to viewers across the continent a show dubbed ‘Within Africa, hosted by Maltiti Sayida Sadick, who doubles as a co-host on GTV’s Breakfast Show.
