Bundesliga club published their list of players leaving for international duty on Monday, September 21, with Adjetey listed among those representing their countries during the international break. Wolfsburg specifically stated that the 22-year-old will join Ghana for the AFCON qualifiers and an international friendly against Morocco.Adjeteys inclusion comes after he was left out of Carlos Queirozs initial 24-man Black Stars squad announced on September 18. His omission was one of the notable surprises from the squad, having featured prominently for Ghana at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.His late call-up also comes after Lorient defender Nathaniel Adjei withdrew from the squad because of injury, potentially opening a place in the defence for the Wolfsburg centre-back.Adjetey was one of Ghanas standout defenders at the World Cup, featuring in all but one of the Black Stars matches during the tournament.His return gives Queiroz another option in defence ahead of Thursdays difficult assignment against Cte dIvoire in Bouak.The defender will also be available for Ghanas home qualifier against The Gambia on September 29 and the international friendly against Morocco on October 4.Adjeteys call-up means Ghana have now made another adjustment to their squad ahead of the start of the AFCON qualifying campaign, following earlier changes involving Brandon Thomas-Asante, Mohammed Fuseini and Rahim Ibrahim.
