We wanted to win, but it wasn’t easy. It was a tough game, you could see it from start to finish. We played with a lot of intensity because we knew the importance of the match, you could feel it,” said the former Real Madrid man after the match. “As the game progressed, we had some good moments and I hope that this win will help us gain confidence and belief that we are good and that we will be even better in the next games,” he added.Croatia will return to the United States to face Ghana in Philadelphia on Saturday, June 23.Apart from celebrating the victory over Panama, Modric also reached a new milestone, making his 200th appearance for the 2018 World Cup runners-up.”It’s truly incredible to reach 200 appearances in my favorite jersey. It makes me very proud, I couldn’t have even dreamed of it.
