Former Ghana international Yussif Alhassan Chibsah has questioned the decision by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and the Ministry of Sports and Recreation to publicly disclose the names of the committee tasked with finding a new Black Stars coach.Chibsah believes keeping the identities of the five members private would have created a better working environment and shielded them from unnecessary pressure as they undertake the sensitive recruitment process.Responding to Sports Minister Kofi Adams on X, Chibsah said transparency should not come at the expense of the committees ability to work without external distractions.Personally and with all due respect, in pursuit of being transparent in this matter, the GFA/Ministry would have created a perfect working environment devoid of unnecessary distractions and pressures on the committee members if their names were kept out of public domain, he wrote. The five-member committee was formed following a meeting between the GFA and the Ministry in Accra on Friday, October 2, 2026, after the Black Stars coaching position became vacant.Former GFA vice-president Fred Pappoe chairs the committee, with PFAG General Secretary Anthony Baffoe, legal practitioner Agbesi Dzakpasu, former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah and high-performance specialist Faisal Chibsah completing the panel. The committee has been tasked with identifying, assessing and recommending a suitable candidate for the vacant position before submitting its report to the GFA.The coaching role became vacant on October 1 following Carlos Queirozs resignation after the September international window.
