Ghana have secured qualification to the Round of 32 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, marking the Black Stars’ first appearance in the knockout stage of the tournament in 16 years.
The Black Stars booked their place following the outcome of today’s Group L fixtures, ensuring they progress with one match still to play against Croatia later tonight.
It will be Ghana’s third appearance in the knockout rounds of the FIFA World Cup, having previously reached that stage in 2006 and 2010.
Carlos Queiroz’s side have collected four points from their opening two matches after defeating Panama 1-0 before holding England to a goalless draw.
The impressive start has also seen Ghana keep consecutive clean sheets, putting them in a strong position ahead of their final group fixture.
Although qualification is already assured, the Black Stars will be aiming to finish the group on a high when they face Croatia at Lincoln Financial Field at 21:00 GMT (9:00 pm) tonight as they seek to build momentum ahead of the Round of 32.
