Sunday April 13, 2025, marked a truly fulfilling experience for me as I joined the Buzstop Boys at Santa Maria Drugstore for their community desilting exercise.
This was a moment I had eagerly anticipated since my interaction with Heneba Kojo Sarfo, founder of Buzstop Boys, on Breakfast Daily on Channel One TV a year ago, on April 4, 2024.
That conversation had left a lasting impression on me, and I had always wanted to be part of their impactful work in the field. Finally, the opportunity arrived, and it was nothing short of inspiring.
From 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM, shovel in hand, I rolled up my sleeves and joined the team in the gutters, working side by side with these dedicated volunteers to desilt and clear blockages.
The energy and camaraderie among the group were infectious, and it was remarkable to witness firsthand the collective effort being made to improve the community.
The Buzstop Boys, known for their unwavering commitment to addressing sanitation challenges in Accra, have consistently demonstrated the power of grassroots initiatives. Being part of this activity not only allowed me to contribute to a worthy cause but also gave me a deeper appreciation for the hard work and dedication that goes into such efforts.
This experience was a reminder of the importance of community service and the impact that small, collective actions can have on our surroundings. I left the site with a sense of fulfillment and a renewed motivation to support initiatives like these in the future.
I also call on all persons with social media presence and following, to use their privileged positions to advocate and help.
To the Buzstop Boys and everyone involved—thank you for the opportunity to join you in making a difference.
Here’s to many more hands coming together to build a cleaner, healthier community!
