The Accra Diocese Women’s Fellowship of The Methodist Church Ghana has organized an evangelism walk as part of its 90 years anniversary in Accra.
The event which could not be stopped amidst the heavy thick clouds and rains that hanged over the capital in the early hours of May 1, 2024 forms part of the activities to commemorate their 90 years of existence in the region.
The event which doubled as a health walk and an evangelism saw women from various circuits of the Methodist Church in Accra, convene at the Rev. Wharton Methodist Church in Accra. According to the Diocesan Women’s Fellowship Secretary , Madam Jemima Opoku Boadu, they chose the convening point because, the Accra Diocese Women’s Fellowship began there, so it was just prudent of them to go to their roots to begin the walk.
Reverend Samuel Obodai Mensah initiated the walk and evangelism with some words of exhortation while the women sang in praise walking through the principal town of Accra from the Rev, Wharton Methodist Church to the Wesley Chapel at the Asafoatse Nettey road in Accra. The women shared tracts and spoke to spectators who watched them pass.
The walk was successfully brought to an end after the display of placards and sharing of gospel tracts amidst drumming and singing accompanied by some bandsmen with closing prayers from Rev. Joshua Quarcoo of the Wesley Cathedral Methodist Church.
