The Northeastern Global Leadership Summit, a renowned and dynamic summit, is to be held in Accra – the first time it is being held in Africa.
The Global Leadership Summit is an engaging programme that connects students, alumni, parents and leaders from various parts of the world. Previous summits have been held in Paris, Shanghai and Mumbai; hence, it is exciting to see the first African summit being held in Accra, Ghana.
The summit commences from the 8th to 11th of March, and will be mainly hosted at Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City. It welcomes a wide array of esteemed guests and performers including Joseph E. Aoun, President-North-eastern University; Virginia E. Palmer, US Ambassador to Ghana; Alima Bello, Creative Director and Owner of Bello Edu and fashion entrepreneur; Sipho Dlamini, CEO-Universal Music South Africa and sub-Saharan Africa,
Others are Kofi Kinaata, Ghanaian musician and songwriter; Sheikh Jobe, Chief Technology & Operations Officer-Standard Chartered Bank Ghana and West Africa Region; Sam Immanuel, CEO-Semicolon; and Kwame Agyapong Oppong, Head-FinTech and Innovation Bank of Ghana.
Expected guests also include Grace Jeanet Mason, South African High Commissioner to Ghana and Sierra Leone; Mansa Nettey, CEO-Standard Chartered Bank Ghana PLC and President-Ghana Association of Banks; and Rosy Fynn, Country Head of Ghana and Nigeria-Mastercard Foundation.
The programme is devoted to empowering participants to share experiences, create connections and collaborate on different ways of impacting the world.
Programme line-up
The summit will commence on 8th March with arrivals and check-ins for esteemed guests. The 9th of March will see an exploration of Accra, including visits to museums, local artists and markets.
The 10th of March will see an exceptionally interactive session with guests on various topics – from business, sustainability to culture.
With panel talks such as The Transformative Art of Creativity and Culture; Is Africa Ready for the Fourth Industrial Revolution; and Captains of Industry, the interactive session promises to be holistic and enriching.
The art panel will feature guests such as Isaac Nana Opoku, Founder of iopok; Nana Opokua, Freelance Make-Up Artist; and Alima Bello, owner of Bello Edu.
Other panel guests include Sam Immanuel, CEO-Semicolon Africa; Kwame Agyapong Oppong, Chief FinTech Officer -Bank of Ghana; Derrydean Dadzie, Tech Entrepreneur, Digital Transformation Consultant and Policy Advisor; and George Owusu-Ansah, Managing Director-Unilever Ghana. The day-long interactive session will also celebrate Northeastern’s new campaign: ‘Experience Powered by Northeastern’. The 11th of March will be an immersion of cultures in Cape Coast, including historical site visits and discussions on global communities and economies. The programme will fully end on 12th March with a morning programme for Young Global Leaders and invited guests.
