MultiChoice and Africa Magic have announced that the 10th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCAs) is set to unfold from May 10 to May 11.
This two-day event will spotlight talents in film production, culture, fashion, music, and various facets of African entertainment and the creative industry.
Renowned film director, producer, and writer, Femi Odugbemi, has been unveiled as the Head Judge for the 10th AMVCA.
The schedule for the 2024 edition of this prestigious film and TV awards ceremony was recently revealed at a media gathering.
“We stand at the threshold of a revival in the African film and TV industry, a revival that promises the emergence of even greater talents and productions. This year’s submissions are a testament to this resurgence. Over the past decade, the AMVCA has served as a beacon of excellence, acknowledging and honoring outstanding talent, creativity, and dedication within the African film and television landscape,” remarked Dr. Tejumola, MultiChoice’s executive head of content and channels.
The nominees will be unveiled on March 24 at 8 pm across all Africa Magic channels, following which the voting portal will be activated.
Femi Odugbemi, Head Judge of the 10th AMVCA, expressed that the AMVCAs have fostered recognition, celebration, and provided a platform for honoring the achievements of talented actors, filmmakers, directors, and industry professionals across Africa.
“The nominations for the AMVCAs are determined by specific criteria and processes established by the jury in conjunction with Deloitte. Key criteria for nomination include the eligibility period, encompassing films released between December 2022 and December 2023,” Femi elaborated.
