Afua Asantewaa, a Ghanaian entrepreneur and former Guinness World Record contender, has begun her second attempt to break the record for the longest singing marathon by an individual. The challenge, which officially started on December 21, 2024, is taking place in Kumasi, the Ashanti regional capital, and is expected to last until December 25, 2024.

This ambitious attempt aims to surpass the current record of 105 hours, held by Sunil Waghmare of India. Afua is streaming the event live on her social media platforms, where she can be seen singing along to a mix of songs, supported by a DJ and a live band. Fans and supporters are eagerly following her progress, cheering her on as she strives to achieve this monumental feat.

This is not the first time Afua Asantewaa has taken on this challenge. In December 2023, she made her initial attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest singing marathon. The event, held from December 24 to 29, 2023, received overwhelming support from Ghanaians both at home and abroad. However, despite successfully completing the marathon, her effort was disqualified by Guinness World Records due to breaches of certain guidelines.

Her second attempt has been met with a mix of reactions. While many industry players and fans have expressed their encouragement, others on social media have shared skeptical or critical views. Nonetheless, Afua remains determined to claim the title and make history.

As the event unfolds, Ghanaians are watching with anticipation, hoping that this time, Afua Asantewaa’s dedication and perseverance will earn her the official Guinness World Record recognition she seeks.
