The ‘Agyapadie’ document, a purported administrative guideline, has been labelled as a serious threat to Ghana’s national resources by Daniel Ohene Agyekum, former Ambassador to the United States under President John Evans Atta Mills.
He alleges that it represents a scheme by a select group to control the country’s wealth.
At a press conference in Kumasi, Agyekum described the document as a ‘diabolical’ plan by a small group of individuals from Kyebi, who he claims are the masterminds behind the scheme.
He argued that this document is not just an administrative guideline but a blueprint for the capture and monopolization of Ghana’s resources by a privileged few, potentially leading to a significant loss for the nation.
Despite President Nana Akufo-Addo’s denial of the document’s authenticity and former President John Dramani Mahama’s belief that its contents have been implemented, Agyekum asserted, “This document is authentic, and it represents a very diabolical scheme by a small group of individuals from Kyebi.”
He emphasized that referring to the alleged conspirators as an “Akyem mafia” is inaccurate, suggesting instead that it should be termed a “Kyebi mafia.”
Agyekum expressed concern that the document sets a dangerous precedent for Ghana’s future, suggesting it is indicative of an attempt to consolidate power and resources in the hands of a select few. He stressed the need for vigilance, as this could undermine broader national interests.
