Almeria are on the verge of announcing the signing of Ghana midfielder Iddrisu Baba in a move that is expected to bolster the Spanish La Liga side’s midfield prowess.

The 26-year-old departed Mallorca, his former club, on Wednesday morning, heading towards his new footballing journey with the Andalusians.

Baba’s transfer to Almeria is expected to be finalised in the coming days. The impending move is set to be sealed with a three-year contract, reportedly coming at a cost close to 6 million Euros.

The midfielder is poised to make a fresh start with the La Liga outfit, aiming to contribute his skills and experience to their midfield dynamics.

Having experienced challenges in securing consistent game time with Mallorca during the previous season, Iddrisu is eager to embrace a new opportunity with Almeria.

Last season, he made 29 appearances for Mallorca, as they finished in the 9th position on the league table. With aspirations of a more prominent role in his new team, the combative midfielder seeks to make his mark in La Liga.

Baba, who played a key role in Ghana’s 2022 World Cup qualifying campaign, missed the tournament in Qatar due to injury.
