American singer D4vd has been arrested in connection with the death of a teenage girl whose body was discovered in the trunk of a vehicle linked to him, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Police said the 21-year-old artist, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, was taken into custody in the Hollywood Hills and is being held without bail. Authorities added that the case will be submitted to prosecutors for review, who will determine whether there is sufficient evidence to file charges. At this stage, no formal charges have been brought.

The victim, identified as Celeste Rivas Hernandez, was found dead in September 2025 in an impounded car registered to the singer. Investigators believe she had been dead for several weeks before her body was discovered. The circumstances surrounding her death remain under investigation, and officials have not confirmed how she died or whether there was any direct connection between her and the artist.

Burke’s legal team has denied any involvement, stating that the evidence will show he was not responsible for the teenager’s death. They emphasised that he has not been indicted and is only being held on suspicion, adding that they intend to contest the case in court.
