Security Analyst Dr. Victor Doke has strongly urged for a more transparent approach to the budgetary allocations for the Bawku conflict, expressing disappointment with the recent explanation from the National Security Ministry.
Dr. Doke contends that the provided details need more specificity and clarity.
The National Security Ministry recently defended its GHC6 million monthly allocation, intended to cover essential operational costs, including fuel for Armored Personnel Carriers (APCs) and other vehicles involved in the conflict.
This defence came in response to scrutiny from Bawku Central MP Mahama Ayariga.
Dr. Doke’s dissatisfaction with the Ministry’s explanation is palpable, as he points out the lack of information on how funds are allocated to specific activities.
“We need to know how much was allocated to each specific activity undertaken by the military.
Dr. Doke expressed his deep dissatisfaction with the current situation, stating that the core issues remain unresolved while there is a temporary pause. He emphasized that specifics from the Ministry would be more reassuring.
