Ghanaian rap icon Sarkodie has addressed what he sees as a dismissive attitude toward music as a profession, pushing back against a common question often directed at artists.
In a post shared on X on Sunday, April 26, the award-winning rapper challenged the notion that music is not a “proper business,” describing the framing as disrespectful to creatives who have built careers in the industry.

Sarkodie argued that such sentiments undermine the scale and value of the global music industry, which continues to generate significant revenue and opportunities for artists, producers, and other stakeholders across the value chain.
