Pop superstar Ariana Grande has publicly condemned the White House for using her music in a social media video promoting President Donald Trump’s immigration policies.
The video, shared on TikTok, featured Grande’s 2024 hit “Bye” alongside footage of border agents handcuffing and detaining individuals, with a caption praising the administration’s border security efforts.
Reacting to the post, Grande left a blunt message in the comments, writing: “Please do not use my music in relation to this barbaric, inhumane, heinous nonsense.” Shortly after her response gained attention online, the video’s audio was muted and her comment was no longer visible, prompting social media users to question its removal.

The controversial post arrives after Trump signed legislation allocating more than $70 billion in funding for U.S. immigration agencies through the remainder of his current term. The video showcased immigration enforcement operations, including arrests, transportation of detainees, and scenes from detention facilities.
Grande is the latest artist to push back against the use of their music in connection with Trump’s political messaging. Over the past year, several major stars, including Sabrina Carpenter, ABBA, Céline Dion and Beyoncé, have also objected to their songs being used by Trump’s campaign or administration, citing disagreements with the policies and messages being promoted.
