Arsenal produced an impressive display as they thrashed West Ham 6-0 in their Premier League encounter, moving them up to third place and within striking distance of league leaders Liverpool.

The victory was Arsenal’s largest-ever away win in the Premier League and inflicted West Ham’s heaviest home defeat in the competition, equalling a 8-2 loss against Blackburn in 1963-64.

The visitors dominated proceedings from the start, racing to a 4-0 lead inside the opening 45 minutes courtesy of goals from William Saliba, Gabriel, Bukayo Saka, and Leandro Trossard.

The hosts were unable to recover from the early onslaught, with Saka adding his second goal shortly after halftime.

Declan Rice, who previously played for West Ham, rubbed salt into the wounds by scoring Arsenal’s sixth goal with a powerful strike from long-range.

The emphatic victory sees Arsenal stay in third spot, just two points adrift of leaders Liverpool, while West Ham remain in midtable.
