Asante Kotoko have sealed the signing of former King Faisal midfielder Baba Yahaya ahead of the upcoming Ghana Premier League season.
The midfielder was closely monitored by the Porcupine Warriors who have been aiming to augment their midfield department in a bid to avoid disappointment in the upcoming season following the atrocious injury history of Justice Blay and the departure of captain Richard Boadu.
“We’re excited to confirm the signing of attacking midfielder, Baba Yahaya on a three-year deal.
“Baba is a WARRIOR,” Kotoko wrote on their official Twitter page.

Yahaya, who is considered more of an offensive midfielder, has played 64 league games over the past three seasons for King Faisal, Kotoko’s local rivals.
His efforts were essential for the Insha Allah lads’ achievement of reaching the Ghana FA Cup final, where they ultimately fell to Dreams FC.
Nevertheless, his team were unable to stay in the Ghana Premier League and were demoted together with Tamale City and Kotoku Royals.
Baba Yahaya is consequently anticipated to improve Kotoko’s performance as they aim for a better finish in the Ghana Premier League than they did in the previous season, when they came in fourth place, behind Medeama SC, Aduana FC, and Bechem United.
The 2021/22 champions are still getting ready for the next campaign, which begins in two weeks. Their opening match is scheduled to take place at the Baba Yara Stadium against Heart of Lions.
