Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council member, Samuel Anim Addo, has suggested the Baba Yara Stadium as the most suitable home venue for Nsoatreman FC’s upcoming CAF Confederation Cup campaign.
Nsoatreman FC secured their spot in the Confederation Cup next season following a thrilling 5-4 penalty shootout victory over Bofoakwa Tano in the MTN FA Cup final at the University of Ghana Stadium.
In an exclusive interview on Channel One TV’s Football Made In Ghana, Anim Addo discussed the potential venues for Nsoatreman’s home matches. He noted that while Medeama’s home stadium in Tarkwa could be an option, the distance from Nsoatre might pose a challenge.
“It’s a difficult situation for them because if you look at the stadiums around, maybe, I don’t even know if it’s Obuasi…Medeama’s home will be fine but look at the distance. They will leave Nsoatre to Tarkwa, that’s the problem but if you look at the proximity, then it is Baba Yara,” he said.
Anim Addo further emphasized that the Baba Yara Stadium, which has previously been used by Dreams FC, would be the best option for Nsoatreman.
“To be honest, that is the best they can get and Dreams FC used Baba Yara and it was perfect so if they are following Dreams, then they should also use Baba Yara,” he added.
Meanwhile, Nsoatreman FC’s General Manager, Eric Alagidede, revealed in an interview yesterday that the club is preparing to upgrade their home venue to meet CAF’s requirements.
