Former Barcelona midfield maestro Andres Iniesta has joined the United Arab Emirates Pro League outfit Emirates Club, marking a new chapter in his illustrious career.
The Spanish veteran recently bid farewell to Japanese club Vissel Kobe during the J-League season on July 1.
Iniesta, 39, made a significant impact during his time at Vissel Kobe, accumulating 134 appearances and securing victories in the domestic Emperor’s Cup in 2019 and the Japanese Super Cup the following year. The club’s social media accounts were abuzz with excitement as they posted a warm “welcome Iniesta” message.

After a remarkable 22-year spell at Barcelona, where he garnered an astonishing 32 trophies and showcased his skills in 674 senior matches, Iniesta ventured to Japan. Notably, he played an instrumental role in Spain’s international triumphs, earning 133 caps and contributing to the nation’s 2010 World Cup victory and European Championships wins in 2008 and 2012.
Emirates Club, newly promoted to the UAE top flight, will kick off their campaign against Al-Wasl on August 19, with Iniesta likely to feature following his unveiling.
