At the Under 40 Champions Summit held earlier in the day before the award ceremony, Mr. Basil Anthony addressed African governments, urging them to support the business community. He highlighted the exorbitant costs of intra-Africa travel, surpassing those of travelling outside the continent.

Mr. Basil emphasised the long-standing challenges faced by airlines due to governmental taxes; and called upon officials of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) to facilitate exhibitions for African businesses, enabling them to showcase their products and expand their market presence within Africa.
