Bayern Munich have completed the signing of 16-year-old Ghanaian prospect Jonah Kusi-Asare from AIK Solna for a reported fee of around €6.5 million.
The promising young striker, who was born in Sweden to Ghanaian parents, had attracted interest from several top European clubs, including PSV Eindhoven, Chelsea, and Club Brugge, but ultimately chose Bayern Munich due to their commitment to developing young players.
“It’s an indescribable feeling. I’m very happy to now be at what I consider to be the biggest club in the world and to have signed here. It’s a special day for me,” Kusi-Asare said.

“I spoke with Matteo Perez Vinlöf. He has been here at the Campus for two years. He only told me good things about FC Bayern and the youth development here. I’m looking forward to meeting him here”
“In the coming weeks, I would like to settle in here in Munich as quickly as possible. I’m looking forward to the first training sessions and want to continually improve,” he added.
Sporting director Christoph Freund, Bayern Munich’s sporting director, expressed his delight at the signing, saying, “Jonah Kusi-Asare is a young striker with enormous potential.”
“He consciously chose FC Bayern because we convinced him of our commitment to his development.”
“He possesses the technical prowess, speed, height, physical robustness, and excellent goal-scoring ability. We are thrilled to have him join FC Bayern.”
Kusi-Asare, who has previously represented Sweden’s U16 national team, is still eligible to switch allegiance and play for Ghana at the international level.
The long-term contract he has signed with Bayern Munich represents a significant milestone in the young player’s burgeoning career.
