Political leaders and activists have been warned to desist from making utterances that create chaos in the country, especially when the government prepares for major general elections in Dec.
The advice was given by the General Overseer of the Jesus Christ Apostolic Faith Church, Senior Pastor Justice Abban at Agona Asafo in the Central Region.
Speaking at the Church’s 83rd Camp Meeting on the theme: “Preaching the Lost, Reviving the Saved”, Pastor Abban bemoaned the situation where political activists have resorted to the use of the media as a platform to insinuate opposition parties with impunity, using harsh and undescribable words, without recourse to what those words can create in the country.
According to him, this negative development has given the youth the impetus to go to the extent of using social media to attack and insult even people in high authority, including traditional rulers and the Clergy in the name of politics and freedom of speech.
He warned that the trend, if not checked, could have dire consequences on the country’s future, as the youth consider that as a norm.
