Black Starlets continued in their blistering form as they beat Saudi Arabia U-17 side 3-2 in an exciting friendly match on Sunday.
The team which recently won the maiden edition of the UEFA U-16 development competition in Serbia, where Ghana defeated Serbia 4-0 and then went on to win the championship with 3-2 victories over Switzerland and Spain are currently in Saudi Arabia for two scheduled friendly matches in the capital Riyadh.
Ghana took the lead through Benjamin Tsivanyo, before Hammed Fiifi Peter, doubled the lead with a fine finish four minutes later.
The Black Starlets added a third goal in the 61st minute when Debrah Bossman converted a penalty kick.
The team were reduced to ten men in the 63rd minute after Ali Umar was sent off for a harsh tackle on an opponent. However, they held on to win narrowly to maintain their phenomenal run.
The rematch will take place on Thursday, May 4, with Saudi Arabia looking to avenge their earlier defeat.
The international friendlies are part of the Ghana Football Association’s aims to improve and promote players from the youth level.
