Former Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko striker Charles Taylor has named his all-time combined X1 to have played for Kotoko or Hearts in the Ghana Premier League, with Ishmael Addo.
Ishmael Addo is widely regarded as one of the greatest strikers to have ever appeared in the Ghana Premier League, having set a record for the most goals scored in a single season that has yet to be broken. In 2001, the then-Phobian forward scored 22 goals for Hearts of Oak in the league.
Charles Taylor named a strong group of players in an interview with Onua FM, all of whom have hung up their boots after fruitful spells with either Kotoko or Hearts in the Ghana Premier League.
His team also included players who had the opportunity to play for both teams during their careers.
Despite the fact that Ishmael Addo was his teammate at Hearts of Oak, Charles Taylor named an 11-man squad without him. There were places for ex-Kotoko player Michael Osei and his former Hearts of Oak teammate Emmanuel Osei Kuffuor ahead of Ishmael Addo, according to his selection.
He named Sammy Adjei as his goalkeeper, with Dan Quaye, Jacob Nartey, Issah Ahmed, and Agyemang Duah rounding out his back four.
Joe Ansah, Don Bortey and Stephen Oduro were also included as well as Charles Taylor himself.
The 41-year-old named Great Olympics head coach Yaw Preko as his preferred man to lead his team.
Charles Taylor was part of the Black Satellites side which finished second in the African U-20 championship in 2001.
He was also part of the Black Stars B side which lost to Congo in the final of the maiden edition of the African Youth Championship in 2009.
