Right to Dream, The Powerhouse Project, and Nike have announced the second edition of ‘Coaching Queens,’ a women’s coach education program aimed at empowering and inspiring female coaches across Africa.

The inaugural program, launched in Ghana last year, saw six talented women enhance their coaching expertise through a comprehensive three-month curriculum of hands-on training and mentorship.

Building on this success, the program is expanding to Egypt this year, welcoming 12 aspiring female coaches, six from Ghana and six from Egypt.

Female coaches often face significant barriers in a male-dominated field, including limited access to training and mentorship opportunities.

A stark example of this disparity is evident in the 2023 Women’s World Cup, where only 12 out of 32 coaches were women, and just one was African.

Coaching Queens goes beyond technical skills, serving as a catalyst for change and fostering a new generation of female leaders who will shape the future of football.

It aims to build a supportive network of female coaches who can inspire and mentor the next generation.

The program consists of two phases, with the first taking place at the Right to Dream Academy in Egypt in November 2024, followed by the second phase in Ghana in January 2025.

Coaching Queens offers participants a fully funded CAF D License coaching qualification, world-class training with expert coaches and mentors, networking opportunities to connect with like-minded female coaches, and career development to enhance leadership skills and confidence in the game.

Applications for the second edition of ‘Coaching Queens’ are currently open, providing a valuable opportunity for aspiring female coaches to make their mark in the football world. Click here to learn more and register.
