Davido is set to become the second Nigerian artist to be inducted into the Black Music and Entertainment Walk of Fame after legendary Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti.

Announcing the honour via Instagram, the organisation praised Davido for his contribution to global music and the growth of Afrobeats on the international stage.

“We are proud to announce our Summer 2026 honoree: Davido, Honoring Legacy,” the post read. “A global force in Afrobeats, Davido has helped bring African music to the forefront of the international stage.”

The organisation also highlighted the singer’s influence beyond music, noting his impact through philanthropy, entrepreneurship and cross-cultural collaborations which continue to inspire a new generation of artists worldwide.

The induction ceremony is scheduled to take place on June 1 in Atlanta’s Historic Westside. Founded by the Black American Music Association and the Georgia Entertainment Caucus, the Walk of Fame celebrates influential figures whose work has shaped Black entertainment and culture across generations.
