Assistant Black Stars coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani has been appointed to take over as the new coach of Ghana’s local-based side, the Black Galaxies.
The former Asante Kotoko boss replaces current Great Olympics boss Annor Walker who led the team to the quarter-finals of the Championship of African Nations (CHAN) earlier this year in Algeria.
Didi Dramani was named in March as one of Chris Hughton’s assistant Black Stars coaches in March and has since been seen performing various tasks to buttress the efforts of national teams.
Like Hughton, Didi Dramani has been actively scouting players in the local leagues with an emphasis on players in the lower tiers.
He has therefore been tasked to lead the team as they begin preparations for the qualifiers of the next CHAN tournament.
He will be assisted by Baba Nuhu and Samuel Boadu as a new set of technical team for the Black Galaxies.
Didi Dramani will however continue to play his role as an assistant coach for the Black Stars while working diligently to help Ghana qualify for the CHAN.
The appointment will see the former Real Tamale United player resume his role as a national team coach for the first time since departing the Black Maidens in 2012 having led them to a third-place finish in the U-17 Women’s World Cup in the same year.
